Dear customer
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support.
We have received several reports of computer viruses that appear to be infected with "Emotet".
We will promptly announce this information on our website, and are currently conducting a thorough investigation to determine if there are any other infections.
The Emotet believed to have been sent this time is said to have the following characteristics
Stealing e-mail information stored in Outlook on the terminal from which the emote is infiltrated.
The stolen e-mail information is used to impersonate business partners or customers, and fake e-mails are sent with Office files with macros attached.
The e-mail is titled with "Re:" to encourage the recipient to open the Office file under the guise of a business-related message.
Stealing information such as passwords entered for Internet banking, etc.
If a recipient opens a file attached to such a fake e-mail or executes a macro in the attached file, the e-mail will be sent to the recipient's computer.
The Emotet will be deployed on the PC that executes it, infecting it and possibly causing more damage.
We ask that you immediately delete any suspicious e-mails you receive and do not open any attachments.
Please do not execute any macros.
If you unintentionally open an attachment or execute a macro, please disconnect from the network and contact us.
Please check your computer for infection with virus checker software, etc., and then
If infection is confirmed, please disinfect the virus.
The Emotet infection confirmation tool distributed by the Metropolitan Police Department can be downloaded from the link below.
Please use it to check for infection.
